If you are like me and enjoy a satisfying weekend project and feel the need to jump on the band wagon with the rest of he country and go green, using home solar plans just seems like the right thing to do. Oh did I mention that you drastically reduce your electric bill to close to nothing? Well its true; after I covered my roof with solar panels I had a power bill that was less then ten dollars.

Super easy to assemble. Now with the proper set of directions anyone that can use simple tools can assemble a perfectly working solar panel to either power something simple, or their entire house. I personally didnt think I was capable of handling such a set task seeing how my dogs house fell down after I built it but it can be done and the results are very rewarding.



Simple Maintenance: Now keep in mind that solar panels need to be relatively clean to get the most bang for your buck. Treat them like a houseplant and check on them every so often to make sure your connections are stable and that there isnt any debris like branches on the units. Just because they are up on the roof doesnt mean you wont need to look after them.

A sure fire investment: Dont forget that once you put the initial time, and a little dollar, you can jump for joy when the electricity bill comes that month. Some electric companies go as far as paying for the excess power a house gives off if you can spare it. Imagine the power company paying you not the other way around!



Materials are always available. There is a ton of misconceptions regarding the resources needed to build solar panels. Its as simple as asking your local hardware store to order specific parts that set directions have for you. Most DIY solar programs have numbers to call to order the whole kit to get started.



The reason why you dont see more people with solar panels is because of the simple fact that people assume its impossible to build them their selves. This most certainly is not true, anyone that knows there way around a tape measure can handle the rewarding task of building an environmentally friendly alternative power source. Go green and save thousands of dollars a year doing it.
